Denizot Sancerre Damocles 2020

Denizot’s Damocles cuvee is entirely sourced from the lieu-dit Côte de l’epee (hillside of the sword), located in the village of Amigny. This terroir is incredibly unique in Sancerre due to its 40-degree incline. This microclimate coupled with the unique blend of ‘caillotes’ limestone and complex Oxfordian limestone soils produces Sancerre of not only very fine focus, detail and crystallinity but also generous and voluminous. It’s wonderful how harmoniously the aromas combine, its scent of blackcurrants interplaying with elderflower aromas takes your breath away. And with a little more air, the wine really gets going! Beautiful mineral notes work their way to the surface and give the bouquet a very special twist. And on top of that, incredibly attractive floral aromas permeate through and give the wine an infinite depth. It moves elegantly as if on silk paws, nestles against the palate, rests on the tongue and is immediately guided precisely by its beautifully, perfectly integrated acidity. A lively, dance-like, light-footed finale that could hardly be more beautiful.
